Introducing Glynis BrummerGlynis is a Pre- and Junior- Primary trained teacher with over 30 years experience in the New Entrant classroom. In the late 1980's and early 1990's, Glynis ran her own Pre-school. Glynis has a Bachelor of Education Degree, a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Special Education) and a Masters Degree in Education (Special Education) with an emphasis on Reading, Writing and Spelling difficulties. She taught gifted and talented students at the George Parkyn Centre from 2002 - 2004. However, young children and their development has always been a particular interest and over the years she has noticed how many children seem to have difficulties with learning when entering school. With this in mind, she has completed training in Perceptual Motor Development Programmes and has completed a Diploma in Neuro-physiological Psychology to enhance the work she is doing through the Smart Learning Solutions' Movement and Learning Centre in Howick. She is a Neuro-Developmental Delay Therapist and the New Zealand Licentiate for The Institute for Neuro-Physiological Psychology (INPP, UK). With further work and study through INPP (UK) Glynis has been granted the license to be INPP (New Zealand). This is an exciting development as this enables her to offer the One Year Postgraduate Diploma in Neuro-Developmental Delay in New Zealand as well as the INPP Teacher Training Course in the use of the INPP Schools Programme. Glynis is also a Practitioner, Supervisor and now National Director of the Johansen Individualised Auditory Stimulation (JIAS) Programme. She specialises in working with individual students to identify problem areas that hinder learning and then develops a structured movement and remedial programme to suit the child.
